Following a rough start to her solo career last year, 'Bad Boyz' singer Jesy Nelson appears to have enlisted the support behind one of Little Mix's most prominent singles to help her get back on track. Her career may not have had the ideal start, but she's determined to make 2022 the year she finally succeeds.

Last year, the 30-year-old singer debuted her first solo track, which was met with negative reviews and accusations of cultural appropriation. When Jesy's duet with Nicki Minaj was released in October, it reached number four on the UK Singles Chart, but the singer's solo career looks to have come to an end since then.
Collaboration for revival
Jesy is said to be teaming up with renowned writer Tayla Parx. Tayla is the creator of 34+35, Thank U, Next, and 7 Rings, which are among Ariana Grande's biggest and naughtiest songs. A source confirmed:
Jesy flew out to Los Angeles earlier this month and has been working with Tayla, who is a songwriter as well as an artist in her own right.
Jesy is hopeful that they will be able to come up with something spectacular together because she has an incredible track record when it comes to writing popular tunes. The source added,
They knew each other via industry friends, so it seemed like a no-brainer to reach out and get her on board. It’s been a tough few months for Jesy but it finally feels like things have turned a corner.
Solo'ing back on track
However, Jesy does not want their collaborations to pan out as Sweet Melody did - as she has already stated that a panic attack on the shoot of the hit music video was the reason for her quitting the girl band at the end of 2020. She confessed:
The last music video we did was the breaking point. We’d been in lockdown, and (that had been) the first time I could have a break and be at home around people that I love. It was the happiest I’d ever felt, and I didn’t realise that until I went back to work.
Despite the controversy surrounding it, Jesy's debut track 'Boyz' has been viewed over 20 million times on YouTube. Jesy's solo career may have gotten off to a rocky start, but she is now ready to get back on track. Tayla's addition to the team should provide her career with a much-needed boost.
