The muffin man
One of the moments people have found most amusing is when one of Amber Heard’s lawyers focused on muffins when cross-examining Dr Shannon Curry. Many internet users have compared this moment with ‘the muffin man’ scene from Shrek.
Amber Heard’s lawyer was claiming that Dr Curry’s husband specifically bought muffins because she had a session with Amber Heard.
Heard’s lawyer Elaine Bredehoft asked:
You said you brought muffins from your husband, and you gave those to Ms. Heard, correct?
Dr Curry then replied:
May I clarify what occurred so that we can stop talking about the muffins?
What happened was that I was getting ready that morning, I frequently bring muffins to the office.
Hearsay
Another thing internet users have been having a good laugh at is Amber Heard’s lawyers, who have been ‘overusing’ the word hearsay. Her lawyers have been objecting to many of the witnesses' claims, saying that they’re hearsay.
In fact, one of the lawyers, Adam Nadelhaft, uses the term so much that he ended up objecting to his own question.
Nadelhaft asked Ben King, Johnny Depp’s house manager:
You didn’t know what could cause damage to Mr. Depp’s hand while you were there on March 8, correct?
King started to reply what the doctor told him… But before he could finish Heard’s lawyer cut him off and called out objection for hearsay. The judge then had to remind him that he asked the question.
A mega pint
One of the questions asked by Heard’s lawyers, Benjamin Rottenborn, has been turned into a ‘meme’. Indeed one of the lawyers asked Johnny Depp about an incident in which he was drinking, and the lawyer described his glass of wine as a ‘mega pint’. Rottenborn asked:
You poured yourself a mega pint of red wine, correct?
Johnny Depp seemed amused and replied whilst laughing:
A mega pint? I poured myself a large glass of wine. I thought it necessary.
The term ‘mega pint’ is now being used on Twitter and TikTok.
