Amber Heard vs Johnny Depp trial
Amber Heard previously accused him of domestic violence. Heard wrote an op-ed in Washington Post claiming that she had been a survivor of domestic abuse. Which in turn had devastating effects on Depp’s reputation and career. The Pirates of the Caribbean star then retaliated by suing Heard for $50 million.
However, Depp got the victory in that trial and was awarded $10 million in form of punitive damages from the jury. Amber Heard, on the other hand, has been having a hard time accepting the jury’s decision. She did an interview this week with NBC where she talked about her experience and feelings regarding the trial.
While Depp may have been victorious in the trial against Amber Heard, that was definitely not his last day in court.
Depp set to appear in court again
As per The Sun, another lawsuit has been filed against Depp by Gregg 'Rocky' Brooks, who previously worked with the actor.
Brooks filed a case of personal injury lawsuit citing back to the incident that took place on the set of City of Lies; a film that was shot in Los Angeles in 2017. Brooks alleged that due to a scene not working out, Depp got furious and started to yell, which soon followed by hitting Brooks. Brooks claims that Depp then shouted:
I'll give you $100,000 if you punch me in the face right now
As reported by the Independent, Brooks claimed that his ‘intoxication and temper created a hostile, abusive and unsafe work environment’. However, Depp's lawyers said that his actions were the result of self-defence.
The trial will take place at the Los Angeles County Superior Court, with Judge Holly Fujie on July 25.
