However, not everything was smooth running in the camp for Josie when she was put in charge of meals and took over from Fred Sirieix, who is a trained professional chef. The two would clash heads as Fred would try to give Josie advice, but the latter saw it as overbearing.
Josie is now a celebrity, but before becoming famous, she had a very humble background, very different to most people. Let’s take a look at her career and how much her net worth is.
Who is Josie Gibson?
Josie Gibson was born on January 24, 1985, in Bristol. When Josie was a child, she grew up caravanning in the summer with her family for eight weeks at a time, as per Mirror. Her mother Mandy told Daily Mail that they used to not have any running water, electricity or gas during these holidays to avoid waste:
We’d be gone for eight weeks at a time, we are old-fashioned people, that’s how we live. When you live in the van then you don’t waste water, electricity or your time.
She then added that Josie’s life is very different now that she is famous but she is glad that her daughter got that experience as a child:
We’ve always had horses, traps and carriages, we are simple people and we live a simple way of life. It’s very different to the life she leads now but I’m glad that she had the opportunity to live life in the caravan when she was a child.
How did Josie Gibson become famous?
Josie Gibson rose to fame in 2010 when she took part in Big Brother. The former financial sales rep went on to win the show with a massive 77.5% of the public vote, which is the highest percentage a contestant has ever had, as per Mirror.
Josie earned £100,000 for winning Big Brother, and after that, she started hosting her Channel 5 show OK! TV. Then, the following year, she appeared in the TV series There's Something About Josie and then from August 2011 to November 2011, she became a reporter for Big Brother's Bit On The Side.
Josie Gibson has also appeared on Celebrity Wedding Planner, Let's Do Lunch with Gino & Mel, The Wright Stuff, Celebrity Juice, and Loose Women.
What is Josie Gibson's net worth?
Josie considers her big break to be when she finally joined ITV’s This Morning. The Big Brother winner joined the show back in 2019 as a competition announcer. Then, in 2021, she was offered the chance to fill in for Holly Willoughby at the last second for the holiday cover.
When Phillip Schofield quit This Morning back in May of this year, Josie Gibson’s role on the show was sealed. Since Holly Willoughby's exit, she has been one of the presenters on rotation alongside Alison Hammond, Dermot O’Leary and Craig Doyle.
With all of this TV experience, Josie Gibson’s net worth is estimated to be £800,000, as per Capital. For many, appearing on I’m a Celeb is a big opportunity to garner more fans and then get more offers for various shows. So perhaps Josie’s net worth could increase in the next few years.
