How did Ulla Sandrock and Jürgen Klopp meet?
All that is known about Ulla Sandrock is that she was born in Germany in 1974. Nothing is known about her parents or origins. However, it is know that both Jürgen Klopp and Ulla Sandrock divorced their first spouses in 2005.
The stort goes like this: Jürgen Klopp, who coached one of the richest footballers in the world, walks into a pub, pub where Ulla Sandrock is working at the time. According to Klopp himself, lightning struck on both sides. The couple moved in together after three days and married in the same year. In an interview with Männersache magazine, Klopp says:
The most important contract I've signed in my life is the one with Ulla.
Ulla Sandrock leaves the limelight to her husband
Jürgen Klopp (54) is not a shy figure and as such the two complement each other - Klopp is in the limelight while Ulla Sandrock avoids attention for the most part. However, she seems to be the driving force in many things.
Klopp explains with a grin in an Instagram post:
Ulla wants to stay (in England). So what do you do as a good husband when the wife wants to stay? You stay.
So the truth is that Ulla Sandrock has decided to stay at Liverpool FC for another two years after all.
Ulla Sandrock's impressive versatility
When Ulla Sandrock first met Jürgen Klopp, she was working as a waitress in a pub. However, she trained as a social worker. She has not done either of these jobs for a long time and is multifaceted.
What many people don't know is that she has traveled extensively and even ran a boarding school in Nairobi. Her current job title according to Google is 'novelist and children's book author'.
Jürgen Klopp contributes to her children's books
Although Ulla Sandrock writes children's books, they are often about soccer. This is where the circle closes again for the couple. If you eve happen to grab children's book with titles such as Tom and the Magic Football or Tom and the Magic Football in Africa, then you have the work of Ulla Sandrock in your hands.
It is also very interesting and unexpected that Jürgen Klopp, who often appears somewhat quick-tempered on the sidelines, has written the foreword for some of these books.
Each has a son from another marriage
According to Bunte.de, these two sons are the reason why both Ulla Sandrock and Jürgen Klopp kept their names after the wedding. Klopp's son Marc will probably follow in his father's footsteps and play soccer for SV Darmstadt 98.
Klopp talks about the patchwork family system, in a Focus interview:
Our two sons, my Ulla and I form a perfect family. I wouldn't be who I am if it wasn't for my wife.
