Amber Heard’s abuse claims
Amber Heard claimed in one of the past trials that she was not the only one who was victimised by Depp. The 36-year-old actress mentioned Kate Moss, who was in a relationship with Johnny Depp for more than 4 years. Heard then recalled an incident that her sister, Whitney, witnessed. Heard mentioned that she had to hit Depp in order to protect her sister, who was allegedly being aggressive towards her, as reported by the New York Times. She said:
I just, in my head, instantly think of Kate Moss and the stairs and I swung at him
The Aquaman actress implied that Kate Moss, too, was a victim of domestic violence at Depp’s hands. She referred to the fact that she had heard rumours about Depp’s alleged abuse of the model when she got hurt on the stairs. As reported by CNN, Heard said on May 17 that:
He swung at Whitney, and I'd heard a rumour, a vague rumour, about that
Kate Moss clears the air
The mention of Moss via Heard's testimony allowed Depp’s lawyers to invite Moss to testify on his behalf. The abuse allegations were proven untrue when Moss took the stand. The British model then cleared the air about the incident that took place in Jamaica. As covered by CNN, the ex-couple was spending time in Jamaica when they were still in a relationship. Moss shared:
We were leaving the room and Johnny left the room before I did and there had been a rainstorm and as I left the room I slipped down the stairs and I hurt my back…
I screamed because I didn't know what happened to me and I was in pain and he came running back to help me and carried me to my room and got me medical attention.
Depp’s legal team questioned Moss that whether he ever hurt her intentionally, to which she replied:
No. He never pushed me, kicked me or threw me down any stairs
