Not a suitable celebrity
Last month, Katie expressed her interest in appearing on the show. She posted a story on her Instagram and even spoke to ITV for a position on the show. However, it has been reported recently that the show bosses do not want her to be on the show amidst all her recent brushes with the law. A source confirmed to The Sun:
There is no doubt that Katie makes great TV and was one of the standouts on I'm A Celeb over the years, but she is too much of a liability for the show to cast her in the All-Stars version.
Given her pending court case, as well as her existing convictions, the series can't be seen to endorse her by inviting her back into the jungle.
Ultimately this show has a very broad audience and a lot of younger viewers, and right now, she isn't a suitable contestant for a family show.
Looks like she will have to work a little more on her public image before landing more gigs. She was a part of the show in 2004 and 2009.
Sometime in future
While she is believed to be not appearing on the show, there are chances that it might change in the future. The insider added:
Of course, this may change in the future when there has been some distance from all the legal dramas, but as it stands currently, ITV don't think it would be appropriate - even though they know she would deliver ratings gold.
ITV, on the other hand, has not given a concrete comment on anything so far. When they were contacted for clarification, a spokesperson said:
At this point, all casting suggestions are purely speculation.
