The young mother was invited on the We Need to Talk podcast, and she revealed how the couple's last conversation went, before the singer passed away three years ago. Kelsey Parker opens up about her last conversation with husband Tom
In October 2020, The Wanted singer Tom Parker left fans feeling devastated after he revealed that he suffered from an inoperable brain tumour, which doctors described as 'the worst case scenario', according to TheSun. After a two-year battle, the singer tragically passed away at the young age of 33, leaving behind his heartbroken wife Kelsey and their two young children. Kelsey Parker revealed her husband had lost most of his voice by the end of his fight against the disease, but they were able to have one last conversation.
The 34-year-old mother, who is currently expecting her first child with tree surgeon Will Lindsay, was a guest on the We Need to Talk podcast where she spoke to relationship expert Paul C. Brunson about the last words she told Tom Parker:
We spoke about the kids and I just said to him as well at that point like 'You can go, really, I know you're holding on for me but you can go, I know you've had enough.'
Kelsey Parker explained she felt her husband had reached the end of his capacities. She went on:
And he had had enough, he'd fought so hard and I knew at that point he's like 'I've had enough girls I'm knackered.'
I feel like he'd lost himself with it all as well which was so sad and I don't think he could live in this lifetime with what he'd become.
The couple welcomed two children together
Kelsey and Tom Parker met back in 2009 at a nightclub, just before The Wanted got famous, and they got engaged in 2016. They got married in 2018, during a beautiful ceremony which Tom described as 'the best day of his life', and they welcomed two children together: Aurelia and Bodhi. In their last joint interview before the singer passed away, they revealed they had planned to have another child together. Kelsey explained:
Everything happens for a reason. We're blessed we've got a boy and a girl. The age gap was short.
In a 2018 interview right after their wedding, the couple opened up about their beautiful love story. Kelsey said:
It was literally love at first sight. I saw him outside a nightclub in London and I grabbed my friend and said: ‘Oh my god, I love him.’ He’s the love of my life. The boys always say we’re the boy and girl version of each other, which is why it works.
The feeling was mutual, as Tom Parker also explained:
It was instant. I knew as soon as I saw her that I saw her as the mother of my children.
