Kerry Katona recently had a cancer scare

Singer Kerry Katona rose to fame thanks to her part in the girl band Atomic Kitten in the early 2000s. She later became an actress, and appeared on several reality TV shows such as I'm A Celeb, and Celebrity Big Brother. In May 2024, Kerry Katona was hospitalised for unbearable period pain, leading her doctors to test her for cancer markers. She told OK! Magazine:

I would be up all night and I'd also isolate myself one week every month because I couldn't do anything. I couldn't move and I'd be constantly crying.

Her exams showed a problem in her cervix, which had to be analyzed to make sure she was cancer-free. Thankfully, after a few days of extreme anxiety, Kerry Katona was told she was safe and healthy.

She is now making arrangements for her children

Kerry Katona has got five children, from three different relationships. During her cancer scare, she thought she was 'going to die' and started making arrangements for her family.

She told her boyfriend Ryan Mahoney they had to get married, and he had to adopt her youngest daughter, 10-year-old Dylan-Jorge, since her father had passed away. She explained:

I was terrified and said to Ryan, ‘We need to get married right now and you need to adopt DJ.
If I die, she doesn't have a legal guardian so I was forced to have those conversations.

Despite being healthy, Kerry Katona explained she still wants to make arrangements for her children in case anything happens to her. She has qualified her ordeal as a sort of wake-up call. She has also urged people to visit their doctor regularly, even if they feel healthy.

Kerry Katona suffers from several health issues

Over the years, Kerry Katona chose to make her health struggles public in order to raise awareness. After struggling with substance abuse for years, she became sober. However, she also suffers from other health conditions that make her life difficult. She suffers from scoliosis, a condition which induces chronic back pain, but she has also been diagnosed with endometriosis in 2020.

Kerry Katona suffers from anxiety, causing regular panic attacks and making her feel like a 'burden' to her boyfriend and five children. She explained:

I've always suffered from anxiety, but over the past couple of weeks it's been really bad. I don't know what has triggered it. I kept trying to ignore it, but then on Mother's Day night it came to a head and I just broke down in tears.
I feel like I just want to curl up and hide. It's scary. I keep thinking, 'What is going on with my body?' I've been in tears saying, 'I don't know what’s wrong with me, I'm panicking that I'm going to die'.
