King Charles’ coronation, which cost £50m more than Queen Elizabeth’s, is only four days away. This grand event will see 2,200 invited guests.

Some of the guests are quite surprising, such as the reigning monarchs of the other European royal families and a number of celebrities. Among the celebrities invited are American singer, Lionel Richie, BritishVogue editor-in-chief, Edward Enningful and the lead singer of Welsh band Stereophonics, Kelly Jones.
More surprising guests, TV hosts, Anthony McPartlin and Declan Donnelly have also been invited to watch Charles be crowned King on May 6. But why are TV personalities invited to celebrate such an event?
Ant and Dec have worked closely with King Charles’ charity
Ant and Dec have been invited to attend King Charles’ coronation as they have been working with the King’s charity, The Prince’s Trust, for a number of years.
Indeed the duo were namedgoodwill ambassadors in 2021 after working with the charity for 20 years. Ant and Dec have hosted The Prince’s Trust Award ten times. They have also joined forces to help make the media industry more accessible.
On the subject, Ant said, as reported by The Evening Standard:
Our Making It In Media course with The Prince’s Trust is a real passion project for us.
There are so many roles in TV and media that young people may have never considered as a career. We want to help young people find out more about the industry.
Dec also added:
We’re incredibly proud to have partnered with the Prince’s Trust on this project over the last two years - and we hope we can help change many more young lives together in the years ahead.

Other celebrities have been invited in honour of The Prince’s Trust
As mentioned before, other celebrities have been invited to attend the coronation and most of them have helped The Prince’s Trust.
Indeed, Lionel Richie was named chairman of the Trust in 2019 and his goal is to help develop its remit on issues such as unemployment and youth education.
BritishVogue’s editor-in-chief Edward Enninful used to be a global ambassador for the Trust. He helped with the work The Prince’s Trust did inAfrica and more.
What is The Prince’s Trust?
The Prince’s Trust was founded in 1976 by the then-Prince Charles. The trust’s goal is to improve ‘the lives of disadvantaged young people in the UK’.
The trust helps younger people (aged 11 to 30) in getting jobs as well as education and training. The trust assists those in the UK but also all around the world.
