On this other channel, Marr enjoys an opinion show where he can comment on political news. While he worked at the BBC, Sunday with Andrew Marr was highly popular and scored very high ratings. Now, a year after the show changed the face that represents it, viewers are tuning out.
Laura Kuenssberg doesn’t convince viewers
On 3 September, The Sunday Times shared ratings of Sunday with Laura Kuenssberg. According to the numbers, the show is losing a lot of viewers at a quick rate. Indeed, Andrew Marr, the previous host, enjoyed a regular 1,9 million in viewers whereas Kuenssberg is now at 1,2 million.
However, even though it is reported that around 700,000 viewers have stopped watching, the BBC is less harsh in its ratings. According to their number, which includes iPlayer, Kuenssberg is at 1,5 million viewers each week.
On top of that, when typing Laura Kuenssberg’s name on X, it appears that the presenter is far from being popular.

Sunday with Laura Kuenssberg and controversies
Unfortunately for her, Laura Kuenssberg hasn’t had the easiest time since joining the show. Indeed, during her first ever show, Kuenssberg had comedian Joe Lycett on her panel. Lycett is a very satirical and political comedian. On the same show, Kuenssberg hosted Liz Truss and her interview was then commented on by Lycett in clips that immediately went viral.
Then, just a year after Joe Lycett, Kuenssberg had to put out a fire on air when Piers Morgan started venting about Prince Harry.
The clip of Piers Morgan and his presence on the show altogether has left viewers quite frustrated. Comments read:
