Lewis Hamilton addresses rumours about retirement in his latest interview

Lewis Hamilton has been in Formula One(F1) for 15 years now. As of recent, rumours have been going around that Hamilton will retire. The F1 driver has now spoken about his future plans with a lie detector test.

Lewis Hamilton took a lie detector test

In an interview with Sky Sports, Lewis Hamilton took a lie detector test and answered some fairly simple questions, some general some a bit more private. The interview seemed quite intense, he was sat in a grey room with little lighting with the interviewer and Russ, who has worked with the LAPD, was manning the lie detector.

Does Lewis Hamilton watch reality TV?

The interview started off light, asking if he was Lewis Hamilton if he is 38 years old and so on…yes he answered these questions truthfully.

One question many people want to know about celebrities is, are they like us? And one way celebrities can be like us is whether or not they watch reality TV. Sky Sports asked Hamilton if he watches reality TV, the likes of Love Island or Keeping Up with the Kardashians. Hamilton answered no.

Surprisingly, the lie detector said that he was lying. When questioned further about the Kardashians, Hamilton said he had never seen it…this could mean that the F1 driver watches Love Island but doesn’t want to admit it. I guess we will never know.

Has Lewis Hamilton lied to Bono?

Diving into the deeper questions, Hamilton was asked if he had ever lied to Bono, his engineer. Lewis answered no, which was the truth.

Bono has been Hamilton’s F1 engineer for 10 years now and has the longest-standing driver-engineer relationship in F1. Hamilton started racing for Mercedes in 2013 and ever since Bono has been his main race engineer. As reported by Formula Nerds, Hamilton said:

I’m incredibly grateful for Bono. I’ve had an amazing journey with him, I think we’ve got one of the longest, if not the longest standing driver-engineer partnerships that there’s been, and he’s been hugely integral to my success.

Will Lewis Hamilton retire?

The one question many Hamilton fans want the answer to: is Lewis Hamilton retiring soon? Well, we can finally give you the answer through the lie detector.

The interviewer asked Hamilton if he was planning on driving until he reaches his 8th title. Hamilton replied yes, which came back as the truth. For Hamilton fans, this is good news and many commented on the Youtube video that they were thrilled the F1 driver isn’t retiring soon. One user wrote:

Another added:

Lewis saying he’ll keep going until he gets his 8th title is so good to hear. I look forward to the day!

The interviewer also asked Hamilton if he was bored of F1 to which he said no, which was also the truth. So it seems that Hamilton is here to stay for now, which fans are relieved to hear. One user wrote:

I feel like every F1 fan needed to hear Lewis say he will keep going and that he isn’t bored of F1.

A shocking revelation

Finally, one of the more personal and perhaps embarrassing questions Hamilton was asked was: Have you ever peed in your car?

When Hamilton answered no, he had a grin on his face and laughed as he said it. As it turned out, he lied, Hamilton has peed in his car. Sadly, he didn’t go into detail about when and where it was as he couldn’t remember.
