Not only does he have an impressive career trajectory and portfolio, but he also possesses a great real estate portfolio. With global real estate properties that are simply outstanding, the Argentinian captain is rumored to have a net worth of $800 million. Here are Messi’s global properties that stand a class apart.
Messi’s properties in Spain
Messi is someone who has owned properties in Barcelona, Ibiza, Miami, and of course, his home country Argentina. Being a part of the Barcelona football club for a long time, it is a given that he has a luxury residence in Spain. His $7 million property sits in Castelldefels. The mansion comes with luxury amenities such as a gym, spa, theater, pool, a large terrace for lounging and barbecuing, and a personal-sized soccer field to practice and play on, as per Architectural Digest.
In 2017, Messi took his real-estate game to a whole new level when he started venturing into being a hotelier. He bought his first hotel for $30.5 million. The four-star beach-side property is about 24 miles from his Barcelona mansion. With 77 expansive rooms, a rooftop bar, and a spa, it is nothing short of opulent. And over the years, he continued to acquire more properties around Spain and converted them to lodges.
In September 2022, it was reported that Messi also bought an Ibiza mansion for $11.18 million, however he has run into problems receiving the necessary certificate of occupancy that deems the home in liveable condition. Not much else is known about the property, however it seems likely that the football star and his wife will use it as a holiday house in the off-season.
Messi’s Argentina property
Returning to his hometown of Rosario in 2022, Messi built a huge estate that is straight out of a fairytale. This property is also known as 'The Fortress'. With luxury amenities such as a theater, gym, and a massive garage for the petrol-head he is, this piece of property is rumored to be his primary residence once he retires from football.
