The UK is facing a surge in travellers during this holiday season after the lifting of COVID-19 restrictions. This has led to cancellations of flights in huge numbers over staff shortages. Amidst this, Laura Whitmore’s back and forth travelling from the Love Island villa in Majorca to London may also be affected.

Reactive show
As the host of the show, Laura has to fly to the main villa multiple times during the series. She also has to present from a studio in London for a spin-off show Aftersun every Sunday. The mayhem caused by Easyjet and TUI axing flights may cause struggles for Laura to be omnipresent during the series. However, The Sun reported that the show bosses are prepared to handle such a situation if one may arise. A show source confirmed:
It’s less than ideal but the team is ready to adapt if they need to.
This comes after the show’s executive producer recently confirmed that most part of the show isn’t pre-decided. As it is based on how contestants react on the show, it is a rather reactive show that adapts quickly.
Nightmare continues
Last year Laura had to travel a lot during the season amidst COVID restrictions and thus labelled the travel as a ‘logistical nightmare.’ She confessed at that time:
I have to be in London every Sunday as part of my Love Island contract. I need to host Love Island: Aftersun, which I love. It's just so much fun, I love live telly.
But that's another logistical nightmare, that we need to make sure that I'm always back in time for that. If I could, I'd probably just move into the villa, I mean who wouldn't?
With all the COVID restrictions lifted, Laura was hoping for an easier time this season. However, the chaotic scenes at the airports may just add to her last year’s nightmare.
