Love Island was the most-complained about show on TV last week as thousands of viewers wrote to Ofcom about the show. A record 4330 complaints were received about the episode aired on Wednesday 28 July—which showed the girls receiving a postcard showing what the boys had been up to in Casa Amor.

Record Ofcom complaints
Many fans were angry that the postcard appeared to show Teddy Soares being unfaithful to Faye Winter. In fact, the kiss shown between Teddy and Clarisse was part of a game of Truth or Dare. Teddy was one of the only boys to stay loyal and sleep on the day beds throughout Casa Amor.
The majority of Ofcom complaints about the episode are said to have been about the postcard being ‘misleading’ and causing ‘unnecessary distress’. The episode which aired on 30 July also received 699 complaints while 117 people complained about the 1 August episode. There were 103 complaints registered about the episode which aired on 29 July.
Love Island cliffhanger complaints
Some viewers were also taking to Ofcom to complain about the number of cliffhangers in this year’s series of Love Island. In several episodes this series, the show has been cut short just ahead of a dumping or important recoupling. The all-important post-Casa Amor recoupling was stretched across two episodes last week.
Wednesday night’s episode left viewers on one such cliffhanger—as it was revealed that three couples were at risk of being dumped after receiving the lowest number of public votes. Tonight we’ll find out which boy and which girl the remaining Islanders have opted to save.
