Reportedly, Davide and Ekin-Su never really cut ties internally and only took a little break from each other.
Davide confirms he never really split from Ekin-Su
The 28-year-old revealed that he and Ekin-Su had struggled to see eye-to-eye on many things and there was an evident communication gap between the two. When Davide posted the news of his break up on his Instagram, most of it was due to the ‘public pressure.’
Opening up about the partial true and partial ‘fake’ split narrative, the Love Island winner revealed that despite their break up, the pair was always in touch. Davide revealed to The Sun at SCI-MX’s launch party for their new pre-workout drink X-PLODE - where he was also announced as their brand champion - that they always loved each other. He confirmed:
It's a lovely feeling being with Ekin, we probably broke up more publicly but never privately because we have always been in touch and the love between me and Ekin have always been there.
Breaking up may happen to people but it never actually happened to us.
We never properly privately broke up, it was more to do with the public pressure and we were having some tough months.
It was a bit of pressure on both sides.
Davide and Ekin-Su to get married eventually
The ‘break’ Davide and Ekin-Su took was utilised to work on their relationship.Davide insisted there were a lot of things the couple had to work on and neither of them were perfect in the relationship. However, he added that Ekin-Su is way nicer to him and said:
I feel like she's a lot more nice to me in certain situations and understands me more and at the same time I try to put myself in her shoes in certain situations.
There is more of an understanding with each other.
I don't regret nothing that happened because I feel stronger and I feel we understand each other. I guess it has made us stronger and everything happens for a reason.
The Boohooman ambassador also added that his mum wants to see the two get married. Davide revealed:
My mum likes Ekin…But it's a fact that my mum wants to see us together and wants us to get married.
