Gemma Owen warned her family before going to Love Island
Michael Owen has previously revealed he had reservations about his daughter being on Love Island. It is understood that his first reaction to her participation news was ‘Oh, Gemma, don't do that!’
However, as the strong-headed Gemma convinced her father, she also warned him that things could be bad for her in the villa or she could simply be ‘hated’ by everyone. Michael told Express.co.uk and said:
The first week was quite negative, but she'd said it would be.
Do not get upset, know that everyone will hate me straight away, it's just going to happen, because of who my dad is.
Michael eventually gave in to his daughter’s wish and believed ‘she'd portray herself the right way.’ Michael added:
I had lots of belief in her and how she's been brought up. I wasn't dreading it in any way. I watched probably half the show!

Gemma Owen and her passion for fashion
Much to Gemma’s surprise, she was much-loved on the show and became a runner-up with ex-boyfriend Luca Bish. Gemma has big career plans and loves fashion, confirms her father. The football pundit divulged:
Gemma has a very strong opinion on fashion [and] I can't walk out the door without her saying something.
Gemma's obviously got her own style and own fashion and things like that, but she can't help but comment if I put something on, like if I'm going out to the races or something like that. I often take style tips.
