Love Island’s Yewande Biala: Here’s what series 5 star is doing now in her life

Yewande Biala rose to fame on series 5 of ITV2’s dating reality show and enjoyed three weeks of summer romance with Danny Williams before he decided to couple up with Arabella. The writer and biochemist has since her appearance on the show written a series of essays on a number of subjects — from racism, colourism and social media to mental health.

Love Island’s Yewande Biala’s new documentary on sex education

The Irish star shocked people three years ago when she revealed she’s never had an orgasm. Growing up in a religious and strict household, sex and sex education was a taboo that Yewande never learnt about.

The former Love Island star has now teamed up with Channel 4 to bring together a documentary that’ll dive deep into female pleasure, confirmed Daily Star. Yewande struggled with a lot of anxiety and shame about sex and masturbation was preached to be ‘the dirtiest sin.’

The documentary that airs on Thursday (August 31) on channel 4 at 10 p.m. sees Yewande meet other women, scientists and therapists to hear their opinions on female pleasure. She also tries out various techniques, experiments with sex toys and visits a sex club - all as a part of her research as she attempts to learn everything there is to know about the complexity of the female orgasm. Simultaneously, in a bid to experience one herself for the first time.

Love Island’s Yewande on her sex education project

Yewande hopes that her efforts will help someone who’s been in a similar environment or has never experienced orgasms. She shared:

I learned so much and hopefully I can educate someone or maybe there's someone that can relate to me or grew up in a religious household or a household that never talks about sex and had a similar journey to me.

I remember one of the things I said to producers was 'don't tell me what we're doing' because I won't get a wink of sleep and be thinking about it every single day.

They would literally tell me the day before 'oh you're going to a sex party' and I think it was for the best.
