In a statement posted on Instagram, Madonna's manager, Guy Oseary announced:
On Saturday June 24, Madonna developed a serious bacterial infection which lead to a several day stay in the ICU.
He went on to explain that Madonna's health was now improving and that she was 'still under medical supervision'. According to several American media reports, the artist had been intubated for an entire night.
Since then, the singer has been able to return home, where she is trying to recover. On the one hand, some sources close to Madonna have revealed that she has not been paying much attention to her health and had ignored certain symptoms of the disease for quite some time. While, on the other hand, others claimed that she was taking her convalescence very seriously, surrounded by her six children.

Medics reveal disturbing details
However, Madonna seems lucky to be out of the woods, since according to Radar Online, things could have been much worse. According to the media outlet, when the singer was found unconscious by one of her assistants at her home, her twin daughters, Estere and Stella, aged 10, were present at the scene. That day, Madonna was given an injection of Narcan to 'bring her back from the dead'. This emergency medical treatment, better known as Naxolone, can be used in cases of overdose or acute skeptical shock. A condition Madonna might have experienced.
Radar Online points out, however, that Narcan doesn't seem to have been used to treat an overdose, in Madonna's case.
