Former Health Secretary Matt Hancock has decided to bid farewell to his ‘iconic’ Matt Hancock app after five years. In a last post updated on the app, he urged his users to follow him on TikTok instead.

According to The Independent, the Matt Hancock app was launched to provide his constituents with a platform to ‘promote a healthy, open and impartial debate within its community.’ The I’m A Celeb star has now informed his users on the app about its closure.
In a post released on Tuesday evening on the app, Matt said:
It's time to bid a fond farewell to the 'iconic' Matt Hancock App - a platform that secured multiple exclusives, including my backing of Rishi Sunak for PM.
While the news will come as a blow to those who can't remember life before the app, fear not. For those left wondering where they can get my latest updates, I'll be keeping you posted on TikTok.
Some of his users appeared to be disappointed by the former MP’s decision. This comes after Matt Hancock recently decided not to stand as an MP for the next election and denied looking for an agent to get a television career. His TikTok account currently boasts more than 156,000 followers.
Substitute for Twitter
The Wall Street Journal previously reported that after Elon Musk’s Twitter Acquisition, many Twitter users landed on the Matt Hancock app. Until his political career was still on cards, the app featured Pictures of Matt ‘doing the sort of things lawmakers do.’
Many users shifted to the platform as the Matt Hancock app became ‘the closest thing to an actual Twitter.’ People signed up on the app to exchange messages and enjoyed its follow each other option.
