Barron seems to have opted out of the typical student life of staying in a dorm room and is instead living at Trump Tower in New York. Nonetheless, the 18-year-old seems to have a strong support system, with his mother and maternal grandfather.
An exclusive social source revealed details about the closeness between mother and son, and also revealed that there's something that concerns Melania now that Barron is getting older.
Melania and Barron Trump have a close bond
A social source exclusively told People that Melania is worried about Barron due to the ‘hate’ he may receive. Due to their public persona, the source says that the communication lines between the mother-son duo are very open and transparent. They said:
Melania worries about the hate in the country and how it falls on her son, who is innocent of any of this. She is and has been a good sounding board for him. They talk about life as it is and how they are in the spotlight.
She tries to normalize his life. If that is even possible.
The unnamed social source goes on to add that Barron has a strong support system thanks to his mother and his grandparents. Sadly, in January 2024, Barron said goodbye to his maternal grandmother, Amalija Knavs, who was a part of his close circle.
Nevertheless, he still has support from his maternal grandfather and mother. The source told People:
Melania’s most meaningful moments of life have been with her family, and Barron is the lucky benefactor of that love and caring.
A second unnamed source weighed in on the matter. They claimed that Barron is ‘lucky’ to have a mother like Melania, who makes the time to ‘help keep his life running smoothly’. They also added that Melania has encouraged her young son to ‘make friends’ but to be ‘super careful of the haters’.
She wants to encourage him to make friends, be super careful of the haters which can be anywhere — especially on college campuses these days — and keep him mentally healthy by having open communication with him and the rest of her immediate family.
Melania and Barron have often been in the headlines for their very close relationship. With Trump's second election, Barron's parents have been talking more about him in public. Most of the time, he's showered with praise.
Melania has often shown support for Barron
Indeed, Melania doesn’t shy away from publicly boasting about her son Barron when she deems it necessary. In a recent interview, she said she was ‘very proud’ of her son for his knowledge about politics and the advice he gave his father during the presidential campaign.
Barron reportedly took an interest in his father’s campaign and helped him be a guest on several popular Gen-Z podcasts. Speaking about Barron, Melania said:
He's a grown young man. I'm very proud of him – about his knowledge, even about politics, and giving advice to his father. He brought in so many young people. He knows his generation.
Moreover, it is rumoured that Melania will not reside full-time in the White House. Instead, she will allegedly split her time between New York, where Barron is living, and Mar-a-Lago in Florida, the Trump family home.
