Melania Trump was once asked if Donald is a ‘control freak’ shortly after they married

One of the videos is an interview with Larry King shortly after he and Melania married in 2005. The interview focuses on the future of their relationship, whether they plan to have children and all the typical questions people ask newlyweds.

However, Larry King also asked a very personal question. He asked Melania whether or not her new husband is a ‘control freak’.

Back in 2005, shortly after they married, Melania and Donald Trump sat for an interview with CNN. The couple were interviewed by Larry King.

As mentioned above, the interview focused on their relationship and what their future will look like.

The natural starting point for the interview is how Donald and Melania met. Melania explained they met in New York during Fashion Week in 1998.

Donald revealed that he was supposed to meet with another model but when he saw Melania, he’d said he’d rather meet her. He told King:

They said: ‘Look, there's so and so’. I said: ‘Forget about her. Who is the one on the left? And it was Melania’.

King then asks Melania if she ‘liked him right away' to which she says that there was ‘great chemistry and energy’ and that ‘something was there right away’.

After briefly talking about their wedding, Larry King asked the newlyweds if they wanted to be parents. Melania explained that they wanted to have a family. Donald goes on to talk about his 4 ‘beautiful children’ from his previous relationships.

When asked how he feels about fatherhood again, at the age of 58, Trump said ‘I like it’. He then goes on to say that he likely won’t be changing nappies or making the food and that he ‘may never even see the kids’.

However, he does say he believes that his wife will be an ‘unbelievable mother’. King asked how he knew that, and Trump responded:

Her? She'll be an amazing mother. I have no doubt about that. She'll be an amazing mother.

As many know, Melania and Donald went on to welcome Barron Trump in 2006, who has just begun his university studies.

Following the typical questions an interviewer asks newlywed celebrities, he takes quite a turn when he asks Melania whether or not Donald is a ‘control freak’. Melania doesn’t shy away from the personal question and reveals that Trump is a ‘perfectionist’.

I don't think he's a control freak. He's perfectionist.

King continues to question Melania, asking if he makes demands’, to which she explains that ‘maybe’ he does in his business ‘because he needs to’ but he doesn’t at home. She goes on to add that they are ‘very equal’.

I don't think so. Maybe he makes demands in his business because he needs to. You know, he's kind of a general. He needs to have people in line. But not at home. We are very equal in the relationship, and that's very important.

She also revealed that if you marry someone like Donald you ‘need to know who you are’ and you need to be ‘very strong and smart’.

You need to be very strong and smart and, you know, he needs to know that he could rely on me sometimes. You know, and we share a lot of stuff together. I don't think he's a control freak at all.
