Molly was born on March 17, 2000, in Truro, Cornwall. The pole vaulter grew up in Illogan and has always had a taste for sports, including surfing, which is a popular sport down in Cornwall. As per Team GB’s web page, Caudery first tried her hand at gymnastics but eventually switched to pole vault.

From the ages of 10 to 18, she was coached by her dad Stuart and trained at Cornwall Athletics Club. It seems that pole vaulting runs in the family as her father, mother and brother are also pole vaulters.

Now that we know more about Molly’s background, let’s dive deeper into her career and personal life.

Molly Caudery’s pole vaulting career

From a young age, Molly Caudery has shown a promising career in pole vaulting. As per Team GB’s web page, at the age of 17, she won silver at the 2017 European Athletics U20 Championships in Italy.

Then in 2018, she represented England at the Commonwealth Games on the Gold Coast and finished 5th. Caudery was then offered a scholarship at the University of Miami. However, as reported by The Sun, Molly admitted that the university was not helping her development and switched to Loughborough University in Leicestershire, England.

Molly changed universities around the same time the Covid-19 pandemic hit, therefore it made sense that she would return to the UK. Fast forward a few years, Molly has now been selected to represent Great Britain at the Paris Olympics this summer.

Speaking about her selection, Caudery admitted that she was aiming for the LA Olympics in 2028 but she has gained ‘so much confidence’.

As per The Sun, she said:

Prior to this year, my sights were always set on LA 2028. But things have really snowballed, I’ve built so much confidence.
Taking that into Paris, I’d love to get a medal

Molly Caudery has a love for travelling

Not only is Molly Caudery passionate about pole vaulting, but she also loves to travel, and thanks to her chosen career, she has done so to many places. Molly shares a glimpse into her personal life on Instagram, where she has amassed 251K followers.

Naturally, one of her next destinations will be Paris, France, where she hopes to take home a gold medal.

Molly Caudery is in a relationship with fellow athlete Joel Clarke-Khan

Molly Caudery is one half of a very athletic couple. She is currently dating Joel Clarke-Khan, a professional high jumper. Joel, who won the high jump event at the 2020 British Athletics Championships, was gunning for a spot at Team GB for the Paris Olympics, however he failed to do so which means the couple will not be competing together this summer.

Molly and Joel have a lot in common as professional athletes, but Joel also shares Molly’s love of travelling, he went with his girlfriend to Italy and shared some photos on his own Instagram page.

Joel was born on September 30, 1999, in Worcester, as Team England’s web page explains. In 2022, Joel competed at the Commonwealth Games and came 5th in the high jump event. Clarke-Khan’s coach is Olympic silver medallist Robbie Grabarz.
