Molly-Mae Hague is definitely one of the biggest stars to ever come out of Love Island. Nearly two years on from her series, the influencer has amassed an Instagram following of 5.5 million fans and her relationship with Tommy Fury is as strong as ever. But back when they were on the show, many thought Molly-Mae was faking her feelings for Tommy.

Molly-Mae ‘wasn’t always herself’ on Love Island
In an interview with Cosmopolitan this week (she stars on this month’s cover), Molly-Mae opened up about this public perception of her, saying:
I don’t know why I didn’t come across as genuine. But I was away from home for 12 weeks, so it’s no wonder I wasn’t always myself.
She also admitted that she was advised against going on Love Island ‘in case the public hated’ her as she was already ‘making a fair amount of money’ as an influencer. Despite facing accusations of fakery, Molly-Mae has proved all her doubters wrong with her success since leaving Love Island—plus the fact she and Tommy are the only couple from her series still together.
Molly-Mae and Tommy Fury
Molly-Mae gushed about Tommy in her Cosmo interview, saying:
I do believe we’re soulmates. My parents love him. We’re cringey and mushy, and I like it like that. We know we’re going to be together forever. People speculate that we break up all the time – if Tommy doesn’t like one of my pictures on Instagram, I get DMs asking about it. But we’re so content, like two peas in a pod.
In the same interview, Molly-Mae also spoke out about getting her fillers removed, saying she got to a point where she looked like ‘someone on Botched’ and that she wanted to be careful about the example she sets to young girls who follow her on Instagram and Youtube.
