Morgan Freeman was set to join his two co-stars in the UK for a press trip to promote the upcoming series, however, the actor was not able to join them after falling ill. Saldana and Kidman have been doing the tour without Freeman and have already been featured on The One Show and attended a photocall at IET London and on Tuesday visited Tate Modern.
Morgan Freeman caught a ‘contagious infection’
According to Daily Mail, Morgan Freeman wasn’t able to fly to the UK as he came down with a ‘fever’ and his doctors believe he has caught a ‘contagious infection’.
Morgan Freeman’s representative reportedly told Daily Mail:
Morgan has a fever and his doctor felt he had a contagious infection, so he cancelled his trip. He is fine now.
The cause or type of infection Freeman had hasn't been disclosed by either the actor or his representative.
Zoe Saldana and Nicole Kidman said on The One Show how ‘gutted’ they were that Morgan couldn’t join them for the press trip.

Morgan Freeman suffers from fibromyalgia
Morgan Freeman also suffers from fibromyalgia, which according to the National Institutes of Health is:
A chronic (long-lasting) disorder that causes pain and tenderness throughout the body, as well as fatigue and trouble sleeping.
In 2008, Freeman was involved in a major car accident that left him with long-lasting damage. Indeed the actor underwent 4 hours of surgery to repair the nerve damage caused by the crash.
However, the surgery wasn’t able to completely repair the damage. Freeman still suffers from chronic pain, he is often seen with a compression glove to help with the pain.
When talking about his pain, Freeman opened up about suffering from fibromyalgia in an interview with Esquire in 2012:
Up and down the arm. That's where it gets so bad. Excruciating.
Morgan Freeman has no use of his left hand. In 2010, he told People:
I suffered nerve damage, and it hasn’t gotten better. I can’t move it.
