Nadia is the winner of the 5th Big Brother series, and she currently enjoys celebrity status. From being one of the housemates to becoming a star, Nadia set a great tone for herself, as she proved time and time again that she was born to be a star. Till the final episode of Big Brother's fifth season, she kept her fans on their toes and showed them her real self, day after day, and night after night. Needless to say, she was the most popular housemate of that year, merely hours into the Channel 4 show, thanks to her delightful self as a contestant.
Here's what Nadia Almada is doing in life today, after becoming a television icon through Big Brother, what people think of her years after her Big Brother victory, and the fame she enjoys in London.
Nadia Almada
Life hasn't always been easy for Almada, being a transgender woman. Being the only trans winner of the reality series, Nadia set a new tone for how Britain think of trans people. She set a new narrative and showed the viewers of the fifth season what it takes to be an ultimate winner, as she arrives in absolute grace wherever she goes. Britain, which was once a conservative place, accepted her with love and shared Nadia's victory with her, like never before.
Needless to say, Nadia has given great hope to the transgender community about what being a woman is really like. And with love and kindness, anyone can be the ultimate winner. By scooping up 74% of the votes from the fans, she faced no threat of eviction till the end of the show.
From contestant to star
Nadia's journey from being just another trans person with big dreams to becoming a contestant and then a star is all things inspiring. She changed the course of Big Brother and reality television in Britain as a whole, as she was the first ever trans celebrity to be born out of the Big Brother house. Nadia is often seen being her authentic self and living her life in London. The star is often spotted by paps in England as she has made it as a stylist.
She arrives in style, whether to awards ceremonies or to a casual outing. Looks like her hairdressing years are in the past, and is actually looking to end up on the screens again, since all of England loves the Big Brother star. She has proved time and again that she is a housemate who stands out of any room, as she did in 2004, just hours into the television series.
She often takes to Instagram to update her 12,000 followers about what's new in her life and as most recently started talking about the newest series of the show more often as another transgender constant Hallie joined. She told The Mirror:
I knew immediately once she came out and she made that beautiful moment to her housemates and the nation – presenting herself and her identity as trans – I automatically felt very protective of her.
Nadia's potential return
Nadia is one to share what she thinks. And this year, she says she would love to be back on the ITV channel show. Fans of the first trans woman winner think it is a great idea, given that she lights up any room she walks into. This years season is picking up well, but the final few episodes could see some twists and new faces. While Big Brother is nowhere close to ending, Nadia says that she wouldn't say no to share the screen with other reality stars. She herself has shared many times that she would like to make a comeback as a celebrity on reality shows.
