Polls are often a good way to get a feel of a country's general mood. They are also used to find out just how popular a political leader is. However, these numbers are only a sample of the population, and they can sometimes be misleading—as evident during the elections when many polls showed Harris was leading.

More recently, the Daily Mail recently conducted a poll in association with poll expert company J.L Partners. The goal was to figure out what the majority of Americans think of the First Lady.
Daily Mail poll reveals what Americans think of Melania Trump
The poll, conducted between 5 and 7 March 2025, asked a sample of approximately 1,019 registered voters what they think of Melania Trump. The margine of error on the poll was 3.4 percent.
40% of these voters believe the First Lady is a 'good influence' on her husband, president Donald Trump, and they claim she is a 'beautiful' person. These Americans also described the First Lady as 'classy' and 'elegant'. 47% of the voters approve of her job as First Lady, with 38% disapproving.
One of the terms that came out in the poll was 'supportive' as Americans believe she is doing a good job of staying by Donald Trump's side. Likewise, the President has also been returning the support with her own endeavours such as her Be Best campaign. Donald Trump himself has often praised the work his wife is doing in public speeches and on his social media accounts.
The poll on Melania is certainly out of the ordinary, but given Donald Trump's powerful position polls are conducted on him on the regular.
On 8 March, Newsweek calculated Donald Trump's approval rating based on ten recent polls conducted by expert agencies.
Polls also reveal how popular Donald Trump really is
A political leader's approval rating is a good way of assessing one's political strength, and Donald Trump is no exception. Only three months into his second term, the President has been very active. A January poll showed 49% of Americans approved of his decision-making since moving into the White House. However, several news agencies conduct several polls almost every day, which show his approval rate has slightly gone down since then. In an average calculated by Newsweek over the ten most recent polls, which span from 24 February to 5 March, his approval rating is now at 47%.
The most recent poll, conducted by Trafalgar Square and InsiderAdvantage with a 3.5 margin of error, shows that the president remains popular. On 5 March 2025, 50% of those asked said they approved of Donald Trump's job as President, while 45% disapproved. Only 5% of voters were undecided.
