His latest album, Council Skies, was released in 2023 and received significant attention, debuting at No. 2 in the UK. In 2024, he collaborated with the Black Keys, co-writing and performing on three songs for their album Ohio Players, reports Ultimate Classic Rock.

Now the news of his long-awaited reunion with Oasis and his brother has propelled both the musicians back into the spotlight. Amid all the hype around their 2025 tour, another story has also been getting attention on the internet.

Noel Gallagher talks about his death as he expects it within the next three years

Despite a busy schedule and fulfilling career, Noel believes that his days are numbered—much like Rod Stewart. The 57-year-old compared himself to 81-year-old Mick Jagger of the Rolling Stones and expressed scepticism about his longevity.

Speaking on Matt Morgan's podcast, he argued that just because Mick Jagger is still rocking at 81, it doesn’t mean everyone can, reports The Express. He said:

Just because Jagger is mincing around at 103 doesn't mean everyone can…Well, I mean, they've [the Rolling Stones] got to be pushing, what, 70 now, innit?

Talking about himself, Noel emphasised that living even until he was 60 would be a big deal for him. He said:

I mean, the way I feel f**king now, I mean I'll be f**king lucky if I make it to 60.

In 2022, the Wonderwall singer shared his views about his longevity and wished to live only until 75. He told BBC Radio 1:

Do I want to live another 50 years? No. Just think how sh*t the world is now. I would rather not live through it. At 75 I want to go.

Noel Gallagher’s health update: Is something wrong with the singer?

According to The Independent, Noel has revealed that he is dealing with some physical health issues. He is struggling with his knees, which has led to the need for knee replacement surgery. The surgery is expected to take place later this year.

He has previously shown frustration over his bad knees during an episode of Matt Morgan’s podcast, writes Radio X. He shared at that time:

I’ve got bad knees actually. I’ve got to have an operation on my f**king knee.

It is not clear what the cause of his bad knees is, but it could be genetic, as his brother Liam has also discussed similar issues in the past. Liam underwent hip surgery due to arthritis back in 2023.

Additionally, the singer has admitted to drinking recklessly, which has led to his weight gain. He said:

I could do with getting off the booze, let’s put it that way.

Liam Gallagher also has health issues

Sadly, Noel is the only Gallagher who has had to deal with health issues. Indeed, Liam Gallagher has opened up about his several health issues, which include Hashimoto's disease, as well as psoriasis, among others. Speaking to The Sun, he explained being on a 'downwards slide', and talked about his attempt to 'undo years of partying'. The singer was diagnosed with Hashimoto's disease, a condition which affects the thyroid and can eventually damage the vocal cords, in 2017.

A serious side effect of the affliction is arthritis. He was diagnosed in 2022 and was forced to undergo a hip replacement surgery last year. Liam Gallagher also suffers from psoriasis, a painful condition which gives the patient rashes, leaving the skin flaky and itchy.

Liam Gallagher spoke to The Sun about his new healthier lifestyle, saying:

You’ve got to undo all the bad work you’ve done through f***ing getting off your head and all that. It’s time to undo it all now and get back to reality. All that stuff that you thought was cool in the early days... it’s time to get healthy.

The father-of-four also reflected on his new-found meaning of life, which leads him to take care of his health, both physically and mentally. He told The Sun:

As you get older, life is precious, do you know what I mean. When you are younger you don’t care. But as you get older, you’re getting closer to wherever you’re meant to be going.
I’m definitely on the downwards slide, though. But we’re all going to die, aren’t we?
