The singer’s family announced on Monday, August 8, that she had died after ‘repeated treatments for cancer.’ indeed Olivia Newton-John was battling breast cancer.

Dame Olivia Newton-John (73) passed away peacefully at her Ranch in Southern California this morning, surrounded by family and friends. We ask that everyone please respect the family’s privacy during this very difficult time.
Olivia has been a symbol of triumphs and hope for over 30 years sharing her journey with breast cancer.
According to NBC News, Olivia Newton-John was first diagnosed with breast cancer back in 1992. Like many celebrities who battle various diseases, she was vocal about her condition.
Dedicated her life to cancer research
Olivia Newton-John was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 1992, then in 2017, the singer revealed that she had received a second diagnosis in 2013 but kept it quiet as reported by The Guardian. In 2017, she revealed that the breast cancer had returned a third time, this time spreading to her spine.
After her first diagnosis in 1992, Newton-John started The Olivia Newton-John Cancer and Wellness research centre in Melbourne according to the BBC.
Moreover, the star revealed in 2018 that she had turned to medical marijuana and other natural remedies. As a result, Newton-John campaigned for Australia to allow marijuana for medical uses in the same manner California does.
My dream is that, in Australia soon, it will be available to all the cancer patients and people going through cancer that causes pain.
