Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne have been in the spotlight over the past few years regarding their health. In 2023, Sharon spoke candidly about her use of WeGovy injections.

These injections are all the hype amongst celebs as they allow them to lose weight really fast. However, the express weight loss comes at a high cost. Sharon Osbourne revealed that they made her ‘very sick’.
On his end, Ozzy Osbourne has been battling Parkinson’s disease for a while. On top of that, Ozzy also had pneumonia and had to be hospitalised due to flu complications.
Ozzy’s battle with Parkinson
Ozzy Osbourne was diagnosed with the disease in 2019. The NHS explains that it is ‘a condition in which parts of the brain become progressively damaged over many years.’ Symptoms of Parkinson’s are ‘involuntary shaking of particular parts of the body (tremor), slow movement, stiff and inflexible muscles’.
Because of its degenerative nature Parkinson’s can also cause mental health issues like anxiety or depression. People who suffer from the disease can also fall more easily and experience memory loss.
So far, the disease has mostly impacted Ozzy’s ability to perform which is very difficult for the singer who had to cancel a tour in 2020.
‘If Ozzy or I got Alzheimer’s, we’d be off’
Back in 2007, Sharon Osbourne told Mirror that she and her husband would be using assisted suicide if need be. She explained:
We believe 100 percent in euthanasia, so [we] have drawn up plans to go to the assisted suicide flat in Switzerland if we ever have an illness that affects our brains.
If Ozzy or I ever got Alzheimer’s, that’s it — we’d be off. We gathered the kids around the kitchen table, told them our wishes and they’ve all agreed to go with it.
This makes sense when you know that Sharon Osbourne’s father suffered from the disease and that she watched him suffer. That is something that she doesn’t wish to see again for herself or her husband and she also wants to protect her kids from having to see their parents this way.
Some say the disease is hereditary so at the first sign I want to be put out of my misery.
To highlight how serious the Osbournes are with this plan, Sharon reveals that they have already made plans with their lawyers. In October 2023, on The Osbournes Podcast, Ozzy and Sharon were asked by their son if they still intended to go through with it.
Sharon confirmed that assisted suicide is still very much on the table. She explained to her children:
Mental suffering is enough pain without physical. So if you’ve got mental and physical, see ya.
A statement with which Ozzy agreed.
