For most divorced couples, parting ways means setting up separate lives—but not for Paddy and Christine McGuinness. Since their 2022 split, they have defied convention by continuing to share their family home in Cheshire. While the arrangement has worked for their children’s stability, things may soon change.

Reported have now emerged that Paddy is reportedly selling their home as Christine is no longer happy with the situation and with that, a major shift could be on the horizon for the McGuinness household. Could this be the start of a fresh chapter for them both?
Inside Paddy and Christine’s living together after split
Despite announcing their split in 2022, Paddy and Christine McGuinness have continued to live under the same roof in their Cheshire home. This unconventional arrangement has been a topic of intrigue, with both of them shedding light on how they navigate life post-divorce while co-parenting their three children, all of whom have autism.
Paddy on living together post-divorce
Speaking to Daily Mail in March 2025, Paddy shared his perspective on the setup, saying:
Yeah, still the same. It doesn’t feel tricky. I think it would if you lived in a toxic household – God forbid.
Explaining how they arrange things at home while maintaining stability for their children remains the priority, he said:
If I’m at home with the kids it’s great. If I’m working and Christine is at home with the kids, that’s great. If we are there together, that’s fine. As long as my children are happy, that’s all that matters to me.
He elaborated on their co-parenting approach, sharing that they organise their schedules to ensure one of them is always with the children when the other is working.
Christine on living together after divorce
Christine echoed similar sentiments in December when she spoke to OK! magazine. She described their shared living situation as essential for their children’s well-being, particularly around Christmas.
It was as normal as possible because our priority will always be the children. We still share our home and together or apart, we'll always try and keep Christmas familiar for the children, because it's all about them.
She also detailed how they use a planner to coordinate family visits and events to prevent overwhelming their children. She explained:
We have a planner in the kitchen between me, Patrick and the children, with the dates of any events we've got. We put it on there and try not to clash with each other. It's the same with family members coming over.
We have to plan in advance to make sure no one's clashing and there are not too many people around at once, because it just upsets the children.
Is a fresh start on the horizon for Paddy and Christine?
While Paddy has described their shared home arrangement as 'doable,' reports previously suggested that Christine may be ready to move out. According to OK!, a source said that she has been feeling conflicted about continuing to live in the same house with Paddy.
A source revealed:
The whole living together, separating and living apart has been a tough journey for Christine. She’s been feeling conflicted because of the kids. She feels like she’s in a bit of a dilemma.
Christine has reportedly been considering whether it's time for a fresh start.
As Christine has said herself, their children’s autism means they don’t generally cope well with change, and that’s why she and Paddy have stayed living together for so long, despite living separate lives.
Moving out won’t be an easy transition for the children and that’s why she’s been so cautious to do it.
A part of her wonders if it would just be easier to carry on as they are, but she knows that now is the time. As much as it’s tough, the kids need a happy mum too.
While the former couple have stayed quiet about reports that they are unhappy, it is possible that the cracks in their unique situation have started to show. Daily Mail recently revealed that Paddy has decided to sell their home.
Paddy reportedly selling their home
Paddy, who got the house in the divorce settlement, has allegedly put their Chesire house on the market for £6.5 million. The tabloid claims that he is hoping to make a huge profit off of the house that was originally bought for £2.1 million.
An undisclosed source said that while they couple were 'content with living together' for their children, things have changed. They claimed:
But in recent months Christine has grown increasingly unhappy which has led to a change to heart.
They felt it was best for a new start, for all concerned, which triggered Paddy's decision to sell up.
