Paul O’Grady’s sudden demise this year left fans devastated. His life and works were inspiring to many around the globe. As such, ITV is planning to remake his much loved show For the Love of Dogs. The rescue show is in pre-production stage as ITV bosses attempt to keep his legacy alive. The most recent season of the show was filmed before Paul O'Grady passed away and aired posthumously, which made the series an extremely emotional rollercoaster for fans.

Paul O’Grady’s For The Love of Dogs to be remade
According to The Sun, show bosses are considering casting dog lovers Ricky Gervais, Amanda Holden or Martin Clunes as the new presenters. It is still 'too soon' for the bosses to introduce a new presenter but there are talks of starting it next year.
Paul made 11 series before his death and shared a deep passion for dogs. For The Love of Dogs is made by Multistory Media with Battersea Dogs and Cats Home in South London and will start filming next year. In his final series, Paul said:

A source further revealed:
It’s a heart-warming series which raised the profile of the charity and ITV plans to continue making it in Paul’s memory.
It is understood that Amanda Holden is a front-runner for the new series. The BGT judge was a pal of the late entertainer and is also an ambassador for Battersea Dogs & Cats Home where the show is based.

Amanda is the natural choice to take over the job, not just because she’s a seasoned presenter but because she also cares about the home and would do anything for them.
The sudden demise of Paul O’Grady left a void for many people and places and ITV’s For The Love of Dogs is one the most affected shows. ITV bosses realise that bringing in a new host for For The Love of Dogs would be too soon and sudden a change for Paul O’Grady fans. However, despite the critical and sensitive affair, they're going forward with the remake.
