Phillip Schofield is a household name in the UK. He had been on British TV for several decades before his scandal. Indeed, Schofield used to be the face of ITV’s This Morning alongside Holly Willoughby.

However, when it was revealed that he had lied about having an affair with a much younger coworker, Schofield apologised and stepped down from This Morning. Following the scandal, Phillip Schofield was dropped by his agent and replaced for most of his shows, including Dancing on Ice.
Over a year later, there are suggestions that Schofield may be planning his comeback, which a psychic believes will be this year to television after leaving a cryptic message on social media.
Phillip Schofield active on social media
As many know, after the scandal, Phillip Schofield took a step back from everything, television and social media. More recently, the former This Morning host has been posting sporadically. One of Schofield’s first posts following his downfall was on May 15, 2024, where he shared a photo of his dog, Alfie watching the F1, with the caption ‘Thankfully, Alfie is a big @f1 fan’, as per Mirror.
Since then, Schofield has only posted photos of his dog except on July 14, the father-of-two shared a selfie with an England flag painted on his face as England made it to the Euro 2024 finals.
Moreover, Schofield recently shared a photo of his pup on his Instagram story, with ‘loving life’ as context. This has led some to believe that Phillip is planning his return to television. Crisis management professional Edward Coram James explained to Mirror that Schofield has been managing his downfall through ‘discipline’ and ‘kindness’.
It takes serious, serious discipline to go radio silent for as long as Schofield did. Crucially, his discipline allowed him to go through the crisis without compromising his personal brand.
Schofield managed not only to navigate his crisis with discipline, he managed to navigate it with kindness. Kindness to himself, and kindness to others. The kindness to himself came in him going offline.
The expert believes that the way that he has conducted himself 'in the face of PR disaster' could give him 'the opportunity for a second chance.'
Is Phillip Scofield planning his comeback?
As per Express, back in May 2024, Phillip Schofield was spotted enjoying a four-hour dinner with Declan Donnelly, one half of the iconic Ant and Dec duo. This was shortly after Schofield had shared his first Instagram post in a year.
This led to some thinking he is slowly planning his return to television. According to celebrity PR specialist Kayley Cornelius, Schofield is using the ‘sprinkle, sprinkle method’ to see how the public reacts to him. She also suggested that Phillip may appear in the next season of I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here.

However, there are now signs to indicate that Phil could be teasing his return to the big screens, and it could be as soon as this year.

One of the key giveaways is the increased public sightings. Initially, the photos of Phil after his resignation were sparse and seemed authentically candid, but in recent months, paparazzi shots appear more calculated.
Moreover, there are also rumours that Phillip Schofield may return to This Morning with Fern Britton, who had talked about Schofield on Big Brother, according to an insider. It has been suggested by TV pundit Sarah-Louise Robertson that if Phillip and Fern 'bury their hatchet', they could be an ideal replacement for current hosts, Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley, as the show's viewings are decreasing.
