The British LGBT+ awards have finally released their shortlist, with big celebrities like Cara Delevigne and Harry Styles nominated for awards.

The nominee’s list was announced on Tuesday ahead of the annual ceremony, which will be held in London on the 27th of August.
What are the British LGBT+ awards?
The awards ceremony is one of the UK’s most publicised LGBT+ events and was established back in 2014 to celebrate those in the spotlight ‘working tirelessly to better the needs of LGBT+ people.’ Since its establishment, the LGBT+ awards have recognised hugely influential faces such as Caitlyn Jenner, Tom Daley and Courtney Act, as well as charities, organisations and allies who all work to build awareness and support for LGBT+ communities.
The LGBT+ awards pride themselves on using a credible nomination process where the judges decide the winners independently of any organiser input. The awards also have public nominated categories, which last year gained over 150,000 unique voters. Winners of those categories are then awarded by the highest number of votes.
Who are the nominees for this year’s LGBT+ awards?
Every year the LGBT+ awards release a list of categories ahead of the ceremony showing the top 10 nominee’s for each.
This year’s nominee’s list includes a mirage of famous faces such as Harry Styles, Taylor Swift and Ariana Grande. Youtuber Jojo Siwa has also been nominated for the online influencer category after coming out to the public last year.
Phillip Schofieldhas been mentioned in the top broadcaster category for the first time. RuPaul’s Drag race has also been nominated for their inclusion of transgender contestant Gottmik, as has Strictly Come Dancing, who made headlines for the inclusion of their first same-sex pairing.
