After the affair was revealed, he sat down with the BBC for an interview, where he talked about this being the ‘darkest moment’ of his life, and that his two daughters have been his saviour.
Since then, he has only been seen in public once, as he went to his mother’s house to celebrate her birthday. Now he is rushing to the hospital to be by her side.
Phillip Schofield’s mother is in hospital
As reported by GB News, Phillip Schofield’s mother Pat, 87, has fallen seriously ill and is now in hospital. It is believed that Schofield relied a lot on his mother after he left This Morning.
Phillip’s mother was allegedly admitted to a hospital in the South West and is being treated for an unknown condition for several days.

Phillip Schofield is close to his mother
A TV insider told The Sun that Phillip Schofield is very close to his mother and her being in the hospital ‘couldn’t have come at a worse time for the family’.
Given that his mother was the woman Phillip turned to in his hour of need, her illness is a particularly cruel twist of fate.
The insider added that the whole family are hoping that Pat will make a full recovery. In a touching Mother’s Day tribute, Phillip said explained that his mother is always there for him and wrote on his Instagram story:
Through thick and thin she's always there.
Happy Mother's Day to my amazing mum.
Schofield also revealed that his mother had been incredibly supportive of him when he came out as gay in 2020. On This Morning he had told Holly Willoughby:
My mum has been on the phone all morning. I went down to see her in Cornwall. She said: 'Oh ok, well I don’t care.’
