Indeed, the former Talk TV host wrote an article for The Sun, in which he talks about his 15-minute phone call with the former President, a week after Trump survived an assassination attempt. As per Morgan, the two have been friends since he won Trump’s Celebrity Apprentice show back in 2008.

Not only does Morgan detail his conversation with Trump, but he also explains that he now believes Trump will win the upcoming elections in November.

Piers Morgan believes Donald Trump will win the election

In his article for The Sun, Piers Morgan compares Donald Trump to a rockstar, notably, Mick Jagger. Both are on the older side, Trump is 78 and Mick Jagger will be 81 soon, and both have a ‘zest for life’ and don’t allow their age to stop them.

He’s the Mick Jagger of politics!

He goes on to explain that both put on a ‘high-energy show’ full of ‘their greatest hits’. For the singer, it’s hits like Satisfaction and Honky Tonk Women, while for the politician, it’s ‘Biden-bashing and rigged elections’.

However, after the events of July 13, Trump can add a new hit to his list that will be ‘greeted with huge roars’:

I took a bullet for democracy!

Morgan explains that this event will likely mean he will win the elections and once again be in the White House. He told The Sun:

I believe it will propel him back to the White House in the November election, especially now his Democrat opponent Joe Biden has sensationally pulled out of the race.

Piers Morgan revealed Donald Trump wanted Joe Biden to stay in the race

Piers Morgon explains that during their rather short phone call, they talked about the presidential debate and then focused on whether or not Joe Biden will pull out of the presidential race. Morgon told the former President that he thinks he’ll win whether or not Biden stays in the race.

If he stays in the race, you’ll win. And even if he doesn’t, I still think you’ll win.

As per Piers Morgan, Trump answered that he ‘hopes so’ and that he ‘hopes’ Biden will stay in the race ‘as long as possible’.

But four months is a long time in politics. Look at the last three weeks! I just hope he stays in as long as possible…

The phone call between Morgan and Trump reportedly took place on Saturday, 20 July, in the evening, mere hours before Biden announced his decision to step down and his plan to endorse Kamala Harris in his place.

The call ended soon after, with Trump thanking Morgan and saying that he knows him ‘better than most people’.

Thanks, I will. It’s been good to talk. You know me very well; in fact, you know me better than most people. So, I appreciate what you said, and the Jagger compliment!

Despite their good friendship, the two haven’t always seen eye to eye, Piers Morgan makes a note in his article that the former President had walked out of their last interview when Morgan said that the election hadn’t been stolen from him.
