Jay Asforis post-S Club 8
After S Club 8 broke up, Jay went on to perform in a number of boybands, including Chapter One and MANTRIXX. He then quit showbiz and aspired to become a journalist before returning to the world of performing arts in his twenties - this time as an actor.
Name change and West End career
Jay now goes by the stage name Jay Perry and has found huge success as a West End actor. He has performed in a number of shows, including Kiss Me Kate, Beautiful: The Carole King Musical, Hairspray, Save The Last Dance For Me (tour), She Stoops To Conquer and Motion the Musical.
One of his biggest roles was as legendary record executive Berry Gordy in the West End musical Motown. He’s currently a standby for the lead role of Alexander Hamilton in the West End production of Lin-Manuel Miranda’s smash-hit musical Hamilton at the Victoria Palace Theatre.
In the summer of 2020, Jay hosted an Instagram Live chat with each of his former S Club 8 co-stars. He remains especially good friends with Rochelle Humes, who went on to find success in The Saturdays and later as a presenter and influencer. Jay recently celebrated his two year anniversary with fellow actor Oliver Scullion.
