On Friday 2nd February, French president, Emmanuel Macron arrived in Senegal where he could meet with Rihanna, at a conference for the Global Partnership for Education. The singer, who was at the conference to assist Macron, didn't hesitate to ask him for his investment in the project, and took to twitter to do so.

After briefly visiting Tunisia with his wife, Emmanuel Macron arrived in Dakar, last Friday. The French President chaired a conference for the Global Partnership for Education, alongside his Senegalese counterpart, Macky Sall. The goal of the conference was to replenish the funds invested in the project and raise nearly £2 billion by 2020.

Ambassador of the project, Rihanna was also in attendance at the conference. A day before the meeting with Macron, Rihanna sent him a message on twitter saying 'Thank you Emmanuel Macron for stepping up to co-host the Global Partnership for Education Financing Conference in Dakar! Will France pledge €250 million ((£220 million)?'.

Macron wasn't however, the only world leader, called on for financial support in the project. The singer also called on Australian Prime Minister, Malcolm Turnbull as well as Theresa May, for both their countries investment in the global initiative.
