Now, the 81-year-old probably loves all of his children the same amount, but it has now been alleged that his estate is to be distributed different than was was previously expected. Rumour has it, that he has specific plans for each child, and an insider has given the controversial details to Radar Online.
The source remain undisclosed and the details have not been confirmed by De Niro or any of his children, but here's what they are alleging.
Robert De Niro had seven children with four different women
Hollywood star has six biological children and one adopted daughter with four different women. The oldest of his biological children is 48-year-old Raphael, whom he had with his first wife Diahnne Abbott. The actor also adopted her daughter Drena, who is now 53, from a previous relationship.
He became the father of twins Julian and Aaron 29 years ago, when he was in a relationship with model Toukie Smith. He has two children, Elliot (26) and Helen (13), with his second wife Grace Hightower, and finally his current partner Tiffany Chen gave birth to Gia almost two years ago. Indeed, the New Yorker became a dad again aged 79. Late fatherhood seems to be making him happy. He told People:
[When I] look at her, everything else goes away. So it's a great joy and relief to just be with her in the moment.
De Niro's alleged plans for his fortune
While little Gia was planned, De Niro does realise that he won't necessarily be in her life for very long and it seems he wants to make sure she is especially secure in the future. At least that's what an anonymous source told Radar Online. The source explained:
The least he can do is make sure she never has to worry about money.
Hence, the source alleges that much of his $500 million fortune will go to his baby girl. That being said, 13-year-old Helen and her 26-year-old brother Elliot will reportedly also receive a larger share of the actor's fortune.
According to this 'insider information', these decisions on which child gets how much of the fortune have set off a 'family feud', as Radar Online notes. It seems the the four older siblings do not agree with his plans. They would have liked this large sum of money to be divided equally. Precisely because they have been by his side for so long. The anonymous source told Radar Online:
With the adult kids, you sense it's more than just the money.
They feel they are all equally important to their father, and that should be reflected in his will.
De Niro's argument is that his older children have had more time to set themselves up, and while the insider believes that Robert aka Bob 'will hear them out', he is also stubborn and 'argumentative when confronted.'
