Republican Donald Trump and Democrat Kamala Harris have been getting all the limelight in the US 2024 election race. However, there are other independent candidates in the running as well, such as Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Cornel West, Jill Stein, and Chase Oliver, reports The New York Times.

Of all these candidates, a major survey from Marquette University showed Kennedy at 6% support. However like Trump who makes rather unexpected comments, Kennedy Jr. has also made his fair share of bizarre admissions and this one may change the stats a bit. The 70-year-old recently admitted that he once had a ‘freezer full of’ roadkill at home.

Kennedy’s statement comes days after admitting that he took a bear carcass from the side of the road and placed it in Central Park as a prank. In 2014, a dead female bear cub was found in Central Park — understood to have been killed in a collision with a cyclist, reports The Guardian.
Kennedy recently revealed that he had found the cub on the road and had put it in his car. He had planned to put the meat in his freezer but never specified what he meant to do with it. Kennedy eventually had to leave it in Central Park when he realized he had to catch a flight. He said:
I was going to put the meat in my refrigerator.
Days after this admission, when he was asked if he ever picked up any more roadkill, he confessed:
I’ve been picking up roadkill my whole life. I have a freezer full of it.
His spokesperson, Stephanie Spear, told AP News that the presidential candidate wasn't joking. Kennedy is a longtime falconer who also trains ravens and uses roadkill to feed his birds. Spear also revealed that he once had a 21-cubic-foot refrigerator full of roadkill in his New York home.

Kennedy eventually became widely known as a vaccine conspiracy theorist — contradicting scientific consensus and getting widely criticized for it. He built a small anti-vaccine organization into Children’s Health Defense.
Most recently, he’s facing a lawsuit that seeks to exclude him from the state’s ballot in November because of improper information on his residence. Reportedly, Kennedy lives in LA but listed a residence in the New York City suburb of Katonah as his home address on his nominating petitions.
