Ronan Keating received devastating news on Saturday, July 15. He was informed that his older brother, Ciaran had died after being involved in a horrific car crash. The singer’s brother was on his way to his son’s, Ruairí, football match, his wife, Ann Marie and their son were also in the car, as reported by BBC.

Ronan Keating was enjoying a day of golf in Hertfordshire when he received the news of his brother’s death. According to one of his friends, the former Boyzone singer ‘dropped everything’ to fly back to his home country and support his family.
Earlier this year, it was announced that Keating will be a judge on The Voice Germany, will the singer still be able to appear on the talent show?
Ronan Keating is a family man
Ronan Keating is reportedly very family orientated and is very close to his family. A friend reportedly told The Sun:
He is trying to stay strong for the sake of the family and is doing everything he can to support his sister-in-law and his nephews.
Indeed Keating’s sister-in-law and one of his nephews were also involved in the crash but were treated for ‘non-life threatening injuries’ as reported by BBC.
The friend added that Ronan is ‘devastated’ as anyone would be if they received similar news:
Ronan is just absolutely devastated.
He lives for his family. This is a cruel bolt from the blue.

Will Ronan Keating still appear on The Voice Germany?
According to LBC, Keating has cancelled upcoming TV work since hearing the news. It remains unclear whether or not he will still appear as a judge on The Voice Germany, as the singer contest doesn’t air until autumn 2023.
The news came after Keating was seen on a pre-recorded final of The Voice Kids.
