Ruth and Eamonn finally tied the knot in 2010 and seemed to have a good relationship. However, in May 2024, the two announced they were getting divorced.
Nine months after the split, Ruth Langsford has publicly spoken about their separation for the first time and revealed what her life now looks like as a single 64-year-old.
Ruth Langsford speaks about split from Eamonn Holmes
As reported by The Sun, Ruth Langsford has opened up about splitting from Eamonn Holmes, who moved on relatively quickly, after 27 years. She revealed that she was ‘quite fine’ being single but doesn’t plan on staying single ‘forever’.
Speaking to Woman & Home magazine, the Loose Women host explained that separating is ‘very difficult’, but like most things, you have to ‘deal with it and have to move on’.
You can let yourself crumble or you pick yourself up and get on with life. It’s a choice.
Despite remaining positive about her future, Ruth does add that she’s ‘not delighted’ that her marriage ended, but she has ‘accepted it’. She then explains that she is ‘embracing’ single life and is now making choices thinking only of herself.
I’m not delighted my marriage is over, but I’ve accepted it.
I’m trying to now embrace the fact I’m single and can make choices that are just about me.
Finally, she admits that her line of work makes divorce harder, as most people don’t do it ‘in the public eye’.
Divorce is very painful. Most don’t do it in the public eye, with everybody having an opinion. But that’s the nature of my job.
Shortly after she opened up about the breakdown of her marriage, reports divulged just how much she earns from her career. It seems Ruth Langsford doesn't have to worry about money amid her divorce from Eamonn Holmes.
