Sadly, the band will never be complete again as in 2023, Paul Cattermole died and the band paid tribute to him during their tour. Moreover, Hannah Spearritt decided to leave the tour after Cattermole’s death.
Now, she is joining this year’s Dancing on Ice. However, it hasn’t been an easy journey for Hannah since leaving S Club 7, indeed she has faced bankruptcy and homelessness and she recently revealed she has been battling an autoimmune disease.
Hannah Spearritt taking part in Dancing on Ice despite illness
Hannah Spearritt has been paired with Andy Buchanan as her Dancing on Ice pro skater. The show starts on Sunday, January 14 at 6.30 pm on ITV.
Speaking about how training has been going, Hannah revealed that it has been tough for her due to her autoimmune disease. She told Virgin Radio UK:
I've been ill quite a lot. So my biggest challenge has been getting a good run at being consistent with the skating because I've missed a lot. That really is my biggest challenge.
She added:
I seem to be in a good place right now. So hopefully, I can just keep building from this point.
Hannah recently spoke to Loose Women and revealed that her current treatment ‘was working well’ and her ‘body felt ready’ for the physical demands of Dancing on Ice.
How has Hannah Spearritt’s autoimmune disease affected her life?
As reported by Daily Mail, Hannah Spearritt has been dealing with an autoimmune disease which left her unable to cook for herself or even get on a train. Hannah doesn’t share what her autoimmune disease is, but her symptoms include chronic fatigue, brain fog and vertigo.
Hannah told Hello! Magazine that she wasn’t expecting her health to deteriorate as quickly as it had and that she had ‘no energy’:
I don't think I realised how much I'd deteriorated because it happened so gradually, I had no energy and couldn't even get on a train or cook dinner.
She then explained that this took a massive toll on her mental health as she had always been a very physical and sporty person’:
That affected my mental health, too, because I've always been a physical and sporty person, it's only when you get better and can do things you love again that you realise how bad things were.
