Paul Cattermole dies before the S Club reunion tour
According to The Mirror, the singer had been looking forward to the club’s reunion tour that was planned for later this year to mark their 25th anniversary. After Paul’s family members announced the singer’s death, his band released a statement:
We are truly devastated by the passing of our brother Paul. There are no words to describe the deep sadness and loss we all feel. We were so lucky to have had him in our lives and are thankful for the amazing memories we have.
He will be so deeply missed by each and every one of us. We ask that you respect the privacy of his family and of the band at this time.

Paul Cattermore’s troubled past
In 2020 S Club 7’s Rachel Stevens revealed she has been a constant support to Paul during both mental health struggles and his financial difficulties. She told Daily Star:
I care about him and it’s sad to hear when anyone is struggling.
I think it’s always important to put kindness out there and let people know that you’re there if they need you.
Paul was declared bankrupt in 2014 after failing to find reality TV work. He explained that he approached Dancing On Ice, Celebrity Big Brother and Strictly Come Dancing producers but ‘for some reason they don’t want me.’MailOnline confirmed that Paul was so desperate for making money that he even agreed to deliver pizzas along with the odd jobs he did to make ends meet.
The star even tried to sell one of his BRIT awards online on eBay. And while there were claims that he had sold the award for £66,100, he confirmed that it didn’t end up selling. At that time he said:
It was no way a PR thing. I didn’t expect it to go how it did. I regret, in a way, how it has gone. I was hoping to be able to sell them quietly, without there being a furore.'
The star - amidst his mental struggles as well - was so broke that the Loose Women - where Katie may make a comeback - producers had to buy him a shirt for the show. On being asked how did he land in so much trouble, he said:
Last year, there's something that I can't really discuss that happened so it's a bit tricky. But I've had an injury, so that's what's happened in the last year that's made it very difficult.
