Sara Davies announces she is leaving the Dragons' Den

Sara Davies is a successful entrepreneur, but most people know her from her appearances on the BBC's Dragons' Den. However, the 40-year-old businesswoman has chosen to take a step back from her television career, to focus on her other business ventures. When Sara Davies joined the Dragons' Den in 2019, she became the youngest ever woman in the show's history at only 35. She announced her decision on her own Instagram account, writing:

As this last run of Dragons’ comes to an end I have to say I’ve loved every minute of this series so far and I’m so proud of the businesses I’ve invested in this year!

Sara Davies is now focusing on her renewed position as the CEO of Crafter's Companion, a craft supply company she founded in 2005, while she was still at university. She took the time to thank her colleagues, and the fans for accompanying her on her journey. The businesswoman wrote:

As well as filming an incredible show, being a Dragon requires so much dedication and time behind the scenes as you join the life of each business you invest in. It means seeing through your investment and committing to your part in that organisation. It’s so much more than a TV show.

While she has announced she will not film any more series for the Dragons' Den, she will still be part of the second part of this year's series, which will air later this year.

How much is her net worth?

According to the US Sun, Sara Davies is believed to be worth £37 million as of 2024. Her crafting company is thought to have earned her £35 million over the years. Crafter's Companion is a leading company internationally, and it ships product all over the world, including Asia, South Africa, North and South America, Europe and Australia. She currently employs around 200 people. Her various appearances on television, such as the BBC's Dragons Den and Strictly Come Dancing in 2021, are said to have earned her an extra £2 million.

While she was still at university, Sara Davies had her big break in the entrepreneurial world when she developed The Enveloper. By the time she graduated, she already had a successful company with a turnover of over half a million pounds. The 40-year-old entrepreneur was officially made a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) by Prince William in 2016, a title which recognises her contribution to the British economy.
