The latest, the Junior Invitational, which took place on Sunday 23 March 2025, seems to have given her Secret Service agents a 'great headache'.
Kai Trump is an aspiring professional golfer
The 17-year-old is currently enrolled at the Benjamin School in Palm Beach County, Florida, and she is expected to attend the University of Miami in 2026, after she graduates.
On Sunday 23 March 2025, Kai Trump appeared at the Junior Invitational golf tournament in South Carolina. She struggled during the tournament, and finished last, but that is not why she made headlines. Indeed, while she was joining the Stage Valley golf course, she was followed by a group of young MAGA supporters who gave her Secret Service agents a 'great headache'. Kai Trump is only 17, but she already benefits from a large group of supporters, both golf fans and followers of her grandfather, President Donald Trump.
The group following the young golfer forced the Secret Service agents to stay close to Kai Trump all along the tournament, positioning themselves as fans among the crowd. According to the Daily Mail, the whole ordeal was difficult for the agents, as the crowd's size did not waver over the four days. The young fans followed Kai Trump all over the course, demanding selfies and screaming their admiration. The pressure and the constant following of MAGA followers could partly explain why the 17-year-old golfer struggled during the tournament. However, this is not expected to affect her joining the Hurricanes when she enrolls at the University of Miami in 2026.
The 17-year-old is constantly living under scrutiny
Kai Trump is not allowed to live the normal life of a 17-year-old junior in high school. She has to be surrounded by Secret Service agents all the time while she is in public, something she struggles with. The young woman opened up about her feelings in a YouTube video alongside her father, Donald Trump Jr. She explained:
It's tough because you're in high school and you want to have your privacy. But I feel no matter what I'll probably never have the privacy as other kids my age so I kinda just have to deal with it.
Also, having Secret Service is a good thing because you never know what will happen. There's a lot of wackos.
Donald Trump's family is used to dealing with Secret Service, as their lives are often believed to be in danger. In 2024, the President survived two assassination attempts while he was campaigning all over the United States. One of these attempts took place on a golf course. Donald Trump Jr. responded to his daughter, simply saying:
Like all things, you take the good with the bad.
