And ironic when you consider the fact that the rumour mill states that the song is about her former on-and-off lover, Justin Bieber. Okay, Selena hasn’t actually confirmed if her new song is about the Canadian heartbreaker, but the lyrics basically say so.
Especially with lines like, “We'd always go into it blindly/I needed to lose you to find me/This dance, it was killing me softly/I needed to hate you to love me, yeah”. It’s hard not to assume that she penned the tune with Justin in mind. We all saw how the break-up broke her.
The “Wizards of Waverly Place” star also revealed that Taylor Swift cried when she heard the song. Selena recently said: “I played her the song, and I played it with her mom and dad, and I showed her the video, and her mom and Taylor started crying. And it wasn’t because the song was emotional. It was just because the first thing they said to me was, ‘We’re so happy that you’re here. After seeing all of that, this is such a cool moment.’ And that’s a huge thing for me."
And Taylor doesn’t like Justin Bieber, so of course, she cried when she heard that Selena finally got to a place where she could let him go. Again, this is all speculation...Want to catch a glimpse of Justin and Selena’s relationship timeline? Take a look at our video.
