Shannen Doherty has been battling cancer since 2015
In 2015, Shannen Doherty announced that she was suffering from breast cancer. After fighting body and soul against the disease, she finally went into remission. Unfortunately, the stage 4 cancer returned a few years later, and she published a moving message to her followers on Instagram last year, where she explained that her cancer had now metastasized to her brain and bones.
Although she says she's more motivated than ever to fight, the actress, who will turn 53 on 12 April, prefers to put her affairs in order 'just in case'. So she started by sorting out her furniture and selling it.
She sold her things for her mother
Speaking on her own Let's Be Clear podcast, the actress revealed that she had sold a large part of her belongings in preparation for the worst. According to her, this would make things easier for her mother, Rosa Doherty, when the time comes. In the podcast broadcast on 1 April 2024, she said:
My priority at the moment is my mom - I know it's going to be hard on her if I pass away before her.
She added:
Because it's going to be so hard on her, I want other things to be a lot easier. I don't want her to have a bunch of stuff to deal with. I don't want her to have four storage units filled with furniture.
Shannen Doherty explained that the money raised from the sale of her belongings will be used to go on holiday with her mother, to create memories and enjoy life while they can.
