Shaquille O'Neal is one of the most dominant players ever in the NBA his illustrious career has proven to be very lucrative and slowly led him to build a real estate empire. Enjoy your family brother. I made a lot of dumba** mistakes to where I lost my family and I didn't have anybody. That's not the case for you

The businessman also shared that his mistakes led him to be alone in ‘a 100,000 square foot house’ by himself. So what exactly led Shaq to this situation?

Shaq owns multiple lavish properties

Mr O'Neal seems to have an affinity with immense real estate. According to the Post, he owns several lavish properties in Nevada, Texas, Georgia and Florida.

O’Neal seems to have lasered in on McDonough Georgia where he has purchased several properties that make up 30 acres of land combined. This could be an indicator that the owner has some intention of merging the property into a larger estate.

Furthermore, O’Neal owns another property in Georgia: a 4,600-square-foot home in Hampton. O’Neal also owns a 6400 square foot home in Sugar Land, Texas, a 4800 square foot estate in Las Vegas and lastly a 5200 square foot estate in Carrolton near Dallas, Texas.

Mr O’Neal has always made wise business decisions. His early affinity with smart investments and an understanding of wealth management led the ex-player to reach impressive levels of wealth and it seems as though real estate investment incrementally holds a bigger portion of O’Neal’s assets whose portfolio has led some people to believe Shaq has changed the meaning of a retired athlete.

Shaq’s impressive portfolio

Besides the real estate portfolio, Shaq is a believer in franchising. According to the LA Times, Shaq, over the years, has owned 40 24-Hour Fitness gyms, 155 Five Guys restaurants, at least one Krispy Kreme doughnut shop, 17 Auntie Anne’s pretzel stands and nine Papa John’s pizza places.

In addition, He’s a board member at Papa John’s, a strategic advisor for Forest Road Acquisition Corp, and he’s the second largest dependant stakeholder in Authentic Brands Group, a brand management firm that owns the likenesses of celebrities such as Marilyn Monroe, Elvis Presley and O’Neal himself. The company also owns Reebok. These assets put his estimated net worth at about $500 million.

Why did Shaq lose his family?

Despite Shaq having an impressive net worth and property portfolio, the athlete has confessed multiple times that he's found himself lonely by making some bad personal decisions on the family front. Like many other celebrities whose marriages have ended in a bitter divorce, he too had a tumultuous relationship that ended in divorce due to infidelity: ìt was filed in 2007 and finalised in 2011.

O’Neal was married to Shaunie Henderson and his marriage ended as a consequence of O’Neal’s infidelity:

You don't know how good you got something till it's gone. I didn't do the right thing and I definitely paid for it.
