ITV has officially tapped Sharon Osbourne for the upcoming season of Celebrity Big Brother. However, it looks like this agreement falls outside of the norm for the popular reality show as ITV has found that the price tag attached to Osbourne’s attendance for the full run is too expensive.

On the day CBB was set to air, several media reported on how Sharon was going to receive a hefty hefty paycheck for her time on the show. According to them, an agreement was reached for her to be paid £100k per day for the five days she is there. However, those claims have now been refuted by her team.
Sharon Osbourne drives a hard bargain
Celebrity Big Brother set returned on Monday 4 March 2024 with a full studio remake and a lineup of exciting stars. After a reboot of Big Brother in 2023 which included 16 members of the public, the set is now remodeled to provide the celebrities with an environment that meets their needs and sets the stage for juicy drama.
With the return of such an iconic IP, ITV intends to provide the best quality storylines and announce that the program is back in full force. So, the network reached out to Osbourne and began negotiations. Initially, it was reported that ITV wanted Sharon to be there for the 17-day duration but could not agree on the fee.
According to Daily Mail, her initial fee for the 17 days was way beyond the budget ITV had in mind so the two parties settled on a limited time frame of 5 days. It was then alleged that the star would be paid £100K per day.
According to The Sun, an undisclosed source stated:
Bosses did all they could to get Sharon and finally reached a deal she was happy with.
Sharon will inject enough drama but without her original price tag that was just not feasible.
Producers cannot wait to see her reunite with Louis and know that it will be TV gold.
Her massive pay generated a huge amount of buzz, forcing her team to put a stop to the rumours. According to Metro, her representatives said they were 'not true'. They have not divulged how much the star is getting paid for her short sting on the show.
The Celebrity Big Brother house gets a makeover
All signs point towards ITV taking the reboot of one of their most iconic shows very seriously. 6 years after the last rendition of the show, ITV invested in transforming the set used for the reboot of Big Brothera few months ago to fit the glamour that matched the stars that are set to live in the house.
According to the Daily Mail, the interior features an open plan that includes large sofas in front of the screen for evictions, followed by a dining table that can sit 14 and a window on the roof to allow for plenty of natural light. The kitchen is on the right of the dining area with a pink marble island as the marquee feature.
Furthermore, the smoking area will now be outside the view of the camera and will include an audio feed to pick up relevant gossip. Lastly, the bathroom situation for this season is peculiar. According to a source who spoke with the Daily Mail:
Privacy seems to be a luxury in the house, with two glass showers, and a huge bathtub, so housemates won't be able to escape Big Brother's watching eye.
